Lots of movies came out this year, here’s my list of favorites.
Who doesn’t love a good movie? I’ve been going to the movies since I was a toddler. Really. When I was three, I coerced my babysitter to take me to a horror movie—I loved the TV adverts and didn’t realize how scary the entire movie could be.
Anywhoo, here is my list of movies that I really enjoyed this past year. I’m warning you, it’s an eclectic list. And no, they’re not in any particular order of enjoyment.
1. Cockneys vs. Zombies.
When I caught the red band trailer online, I was entranced. At times hilarious and gross, this mashup of bank heist and zombie invasion is well done. Where else would you see Honor Blackman say to Alan Ford, “I’ll kill you stone fucking dead.” Technically, this movie came out in 2012, but didn’t hit the states until ‘13.
The last movie from the Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz). The amazing team of Nick Frost,Simon Pegg, director Edgar Wright and producer Nira Park for the final flavor of this cinematic confectionary trio. Sigh.
10. The Day of The Doctor
For the 50th anniversary, Day of the Doctor was simulcast throughout the world and shown in movie theaters. I was lucky enough to watch it in the theater. I was also one of the few people not carrying a sonic screwdriver.
